HWB is responding to flooding and hurricane relief in the SE. Thank you so much to all who have donated so far to the fund – it is purchasing supplies, and containers, and paying for shipping to get supplies directly to Coordinators responding in their communities.

INTERESTED IN OUR US DONATION DISTRIBUTION NETWORK?
We always get a lot of people writing to us asking for supplies after disasters. While we do have many existing Chapters, Clinics, and Projects responding, we are willing to add more folks to ship to as long as we have funds for shipping and enough supplies to share. We work hard to be prepared in advance of disasters, have a network of folks that donate into the system, and we mobilize for additional support and supplies so that we can reach the most people when disasters do strike. We generally don’t ship blind, but ship to people who are HWB members of our 501c3 nonprofit organization and who have signed a volunteer waiver (so they are under our general liability insurance policy as a member!).
If you are interested in receiving supplies and being a part of our distribution network but there is no local chapter, you can form a short-term HWB DISASTER RELIEF PROJECT that can operate for just a month or two under the HWB 501c3 nonprofit umbrella. It requires you join as a member at any level you can afford, attending a training call so you know how things work, a volunteer waiver signed, and for you to report back in a quarterly report who you distributed items to, etc.
The training call explains to you how our US Donation Network works, how to submit supply requests, gives you access to the master supply sheet that includes what we have and what we can make, and we discuss with you if you would also like to fundraise under our 501c3 as a member of HWB and if you will be applying for local disaster relief grants under our umbrella, etc.
This project is only for short-term for disaster relief, is opened after widespread disasters, and is folded as things wind down. Are you interested in finding out more?
