HWB Chapters, Clinics, & Projects

What are HWB Chapters, Projects, and Clinics?

Our registered HWB Chapters, Clinics, and Projects coordinate and operate within the values, mission, and vision of HWB. Innovative health and wellness projects and grassroots actions happen globally each week.

Dedicated volunteers engage in Free People's Clinics, Wellness Days, Street Medic Camps, Herbal Education Days, Community Gardens, Community Herb Apothecaries, Medicinal Seed Saving and other important herbal health and wellness social justice volunteerism. We work together as a network to get more supplies, resources, and community initiatives into our own communities.

How to Form an HWB Chapter, Clinic, or Project

What is an Herbalists Without Borders Chapter?

Chapters are regional groups of HWB members volunteering under the umbrella of the Herbalists Without Borders non-profit organization as a community group. Chapters are open to local HWB members joining and volunteering. Chapters are dedicated to the organization and implementation of innovative projects that make a difference in overall health and wellness within their communities, states, provinces or countries. Chapters can apply to form if they are an hour away from the nearest existing Chapter, and they often focus on a variety of community models – clinics, classes, plant walks, wellness days, herbal events, community gardens, and other local activities to promote herbalism and health justice locally. All Chapter volunteers join HWB and volunteer for the organization as an HWB volunteer chapter group.

What is an Herbalists Without Borders Clinic?

Chapters with qualified practitioner members may have a clinic, but HWB also allows standalone clinics. HWB Clinics form from existing clinics, schools, or businesses that are already hosting free clinics and would like to align with the mission and values of HWB, access resources and benefits by being HWB members, or operate under our 501c3 umbrella for free clinic days. These groups are not usually open to the public or hosting chapter meetings, but focus on free people’s clinics in their communities, often with a clinical practice/practitioner, or herbal school with a student clinic. All volunteers join as HWB members and volunteer as a member of our organization!

What is an Herbalists Without Borders Project?

An HWB Project is a community based project that is operating under the 501c3 non-profit umbrella of HWB, and has organized under us as a member and project to access our member benefits and support. Projects usually have one focus, and can fall within a Chapter territory – without needing an hour distance apart. Projects often serve a specific population, focus on a particular area of work (community garden, unhoused outreach, etc.) or align with the community service arm of a small business, herb school, nonprofit, mutual aid group, community organization, or club/guild. Projects may also be allied groups or organizations joining to support our mission, access resources, and be a part of our network support. All project volunteers join as HWB members and volunteer as a part of our organization!
